Featured Artist: Patrice DeVirgilis
The Olitsky Gallery is pleased to present the evocative work of Pat DeVirgilis, our artist for the month of October. Please join us on Friday, October 13, for an opening Meet the Artist reception, from 6 to 6:30 p.m., prior to Shabbat services.
Patrice DeVirgilis holds a BFA from Marywood University in Scranton, PA, and did postgraduate studies at the Art Students League in New York City. She taught at Marywood University..
Working in oil and acrylic, Pat paints en plein air and in her studio. She works from sketches and mental images filtered by her recollections and narrated with lush musical notes of color harmonies. While a wide range of subject matter appeals to her, she is especially drawn to water themes: creeks, canals, streams and shorelines. She prefers to evoke memories rather than paint a litteral landscape.
Pat has exhibited her work at various venues, and has won many awards for her beautiful work. She is a signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society.
The exhibit continues until November 8.
