Junior Choir

Why Join the Junior Choir?

Do you have a child in grade 2-12? We are an enthusiastic and diverse group of 2nd-12th graders that enjoys singing Jewish music and socializing together. We lead Family Shabbat Services, have parties, play laser tag and have sleepovers at the synagogue. The Jr. Staffers (7th-12th graders) gain leadership skills and have some social functions of their own. The Jr. Choir rehearses on Sundays between the first and second session of religious school (10:45-11:15 am). They sing at Family Shabbat Services on the first Friday of every month and during holiday service. This is a great way fo participants to get comfortable being on the bimah in front of the congregation. It is great practice for b'nai mitzvah.

Junior Staffer Program

We also have an active Junior Staffer Program for students grades 7-12. These students have the opportunity to teach younger choir members the music, assist with music classes on Sunday mornings, and have social events of their own. They also have the opportunity to write, help cast, and help direct the Purim Musical each year. Jr. Staffers gain valuable leadership experience and opportunities to explore their musical talents.
